Taking the current meta and the upcoming meta into consideration, "block dragon" is a mid card at best.
Imo it should get an errata to be a hard opt and left at 3 forever.
I think is because of the format Bo1. In this format and in a scenario in which you can end up facing a lot of different decks (at least more than in tournaments), decks that have good control strategies have an edge.
My guess of next banlist (not what I want, but what I think Konami will do):
Pot of Extravagance at 1, Supreme King Venom at 1, Block Dragon at 1, Pot of Duality at 2, There Can Only Be One at 2, Runick Flashing Fire at 2, Runick Freezing Curses at 2, Grass at 2.
This is so ****. Adam, Floo, and Runick dominating the event. Love to see it. Hopefully they unban Mystic Mine so we can further ruin other players' experiences. 10/10 format, would play again.
Imo:- Grass takes the ban
-Maybe Bloc Dragon at 1 (yeah i know should be ban, at one it still do the job but Adamancipator isn't so powerful)
-Robina at 2 (if Konami really hates Floowan)
-Pot of Desirs at 2 (it's in many decks and they already hit it in TCG)
- Aluber or Branded Fusion at 2 (if Komani decide it is time they hit the two cards)

It's hilarious how the comments are ranting about combo decks when the top 100 is full of Runick and Floowandereeze decks. I pulled for a complete Runick deck (12,000 gems) and I'm not delusional, the deck will probably get hit down the line, but first, they will hit the floodgates that make the most popular version viable. Incidentally, I suspect the rise in 60 cards builds is because these are inherently stronger against Runick without the need to include actual counters.
Agree here. The problem is floodgates being too strong in a Bo1 format. Also, the diversity of decks in the ladder is bigger than in YGO tournaments. Control decks, specially those that make use of floodgates, have an edge in this scenario.
Plz don't hit grass Konami, I need it for my infernoids. The problem is Lego being able to summon a billion times without any restriction, not my grass. Also dragon link uses grass and it's a healthy combo deck.
Oh and rip true Draco's, demise is definitely going to 1, I doubt they'd hit fountain.
Grass finally Ban!?!? I would also like to see Tcboo to 1 or 2. Card of Demise banned, Pot of Extrav and Duality to 2 and maybe some hits to Runick as its not only very boring to play against but also doesn't have rewarding gameplay, you can have a long duel vs runick to the point you will be glad the duel ended even if you lose.
Would rather want to see Baronne De Fleur, Borreload Savage Dragon and Wandering Gryphon Rider (together with Block Dragon & Nightingale) get banned than seeing Grass gets hit (or just make Grass semi-limited like in OCG). Grass adds versatility to many decks (especially rogue ones) while those 3 mentioned are just generic splashable omni-negate that anyone can use - even decks like Blue-Eyes & Dark Magician use Baronne (no offense for BE & DM players). Really makes Turn 1 combo decks with omni-negate boards unstopabble by Going Second decks most times.
Comparing those 3 with generic beaters like Accesscode Talker & Avramax is not the same as you can still do something to stop them on Turn 2. And most times, Apollousa is just fair because it only negates monsters and Maxx "C" stops unfair Turn 1 combo decks like Adamancipator, Drytron, Dragon Link, Tri-Lyrilusc, Endymion, etc. Those 2 are just "necessary evils" in Bo1 format and so are the floodgates (but I hope they limit or semi-limit TCBOO & others).
Nah people will do anything for 1 omni cause = state of ygo rn.. anything to stop your opponent from enjoying the game with hand traps and flood gates and to not have an interaction at all ez :))) baron will not die yet but gryphon will XD
Grass is just too unfair. You play against grass and you literally have to save Ash as much as you can cuz if you don't, you basically lose as your opponent plus so much that is almost impossible to have a chance. Not hitting cards cuz it boosts rogue decks is such a popular and bad take, rogue decks will always use what's available to them, for instance BF helps a lot ThunDra, would be unfair to hit BF and make ThunDra worse? Of course not, as BF is a important card that make Despia a very good and popular deck, if it happens rogue decks that utilize it will just adapt. Hitting Baronne which is a fair card and leaving Grass which isn't anything remotely close to fair, would be pretty funny.
Banning Grass would make decks like Infernoid, Witchcrafter, Zombies, Lightsworn, Skull Servant, Metaphys, Pure Shaddoll, etc. become completely unplayable while banning Baronne would become one less "unbreakable Turn 1 board" for most meta combo decks like Adamancipator, Drytron & DLink. Drytron fell off before in MD because of Benten's Limit to 1, Dragon Link is dead now in TCG because Curious & Chaos Ruler are now both banned, Adv. Tenyi is now dead in OCG because of Gryphon & Halq hits and then Adam is less used in TCG because Block Dragon & Meow-Mu is banned. ThunDra is still strong in OCG (as a rogue deck even w/o running Branded engine) because of Colossus. Tearlaments got most of their cards hit but not Grass because those cards make it really unfair and unfun to play against. It feels like half of the times, Grass is not completely the problem.
It's mostly true when a game extends on more than 3 turns in MD, drawing Grass could be an easy win when your opponent doesn't have Ash or other negates to stop it but it's less likely to happen and it's more annoying to see consistent Turn 1 Baronne turbo with most decks until you just scoop the game because you have no Droplet, Imperm or DRNM against Baronne (together with other omni-negates).
But I get your point. If anything, they should just limit or semi-limit Grass to make it fair and not ban it completely so other meta decks won't rely on it when it's at 3. It could be really unfair when your opponent draws it on Turn 1 while you used up your Ash on other baits escpecially if you're facing against an FTK deck that utilize it (like Ruinforce FTK). Limiting or Semi-limiting Grass could also be a preemptive hit in preparation for Tear since it's near.
Baronne is literally 1 Omni, which you can literally trade for one card in your hand, if you ban it, people will just summon smth else it literally doesn't do anything, being part of an unbreakable board doesn't mean it's the problem, the problem would be the stuff that enables the board. If your deck is only viable cuz of grass then you shouldn't have it in the first place.
Idk, I feel like grass leads to some unique builds. It’s a pretty highroll card so it’s not a gurranteed win for the person playing it. A limit to 2 wouldn’t be unreasonable, but just straight up banning it would be a ****** move.
I prefer duking it out against RUNICK + UMI + MOMMIES + GEIST + WEATHER with BACK AND FORTH control floodgating than dueling them "BIG BRAIN" combo players just to waste my time OR seeing them time out lololol
