Notes & Combos
Noble Knight Primite actually works!
Primite cards not only put Warriors on the field for Isolde/XYZ plays. They also patch up a couple of the Arthurian cards' biggest weaknesses.
First, while Arthurian cards are generally Normal Summon dependent, Primite Roar adds more Special Summons to the deck.
It even power creeps Unexpected Dai by giving the deck some form of disruption on Turn 2 (finally!). As well as battle protection for vanilla Artorigus to add another layer of defense.
Primite Lordly Lode mostly acts as additional copies of Primite Roar. But can grab Howl as well.
Primite Howl is another potential disruption on Turn 2. As well as a way to rebuild your board during Turn 2's End Phase. By activating both Howl and Until during Turn 2's End Phase, it's possible to start Turn 3 with 2 Warriors ready for the clap back.
As always, the game plan Going 1st is to:
- Resolve Borz to setup our GY resources (2 Untils, 1 Gwen) for an OTK on Turn 3
- Summon Isolde to mill defensive Noble Arms for Artorigus (Destiny and Excaliburn) and other useful GY resources (Gearblade and Sparkles)
- Artorigus. Pass. (Protected by Destiny, Excaliburn, and potentially Camelot plus Primite cards, this is usually enough to survive Turn 2)
Here's a few combo routes:
Similar to Infernoble, you have to "see the line" to maximize Turn 1.
There's multiple ways to play any given hand. Just try to hit all 3 main checkpoints (Untils in GY, Isolde mill, Rank 5 Artorigus)
Medraut + Floating Noble Arm (Guarantees Camelot on end board)
Medraut + Non-floating Noble Arm
Three Warriors (Incl. 2 Lvl 4s)
Two Lvl 4 Warriors
Thoughts on tech choices:
Morgan is great in this meta. Since Called By and Crossout are banned, she fulfills their role of protecting Medraut and Borz from Ash/Veiler/Imperm.
Gawayn is amazing at 3x given his compatibility with Roar/Lode, Dai, Camelot, etc. This higher ratio of special summoning cards creates more fighting chances Going 2nd.
Artorigus is at 2x given the high chance to open any 2 of Dai/Roar/Lode/Camelot.
Ferocious is at 2x to fix janky start conditions Turn 1 (event placing a Monster on your field). Then the 2nd copy is for the OTK Turn 3.
