Review and Strategy
I'm a returning player that loves to haunt the META. I've worked hard to make this deck as competitive as possible, even when going second and I’m really proud of this version I cooked up.
I’ve focused on mastering this deck and learning how to counter play against every meta deck. The biggest challenge has been Tearlaments, particularly going second, due to their recursion and consistency. I’ve made some adjustments to the deck, like cutting Dimension Fissure, which didn’t offer much against a lot of decks and often became dead draw after the opening hand. I prefer drawing a board breaker/floodgate or a Runick card instead.
Key cards that help me either play first or second are Super Polymerization and Droplet. Droplet while being a fantastic board breaker it also allows me to clear unwanted backrow depending on the matcup, and Lava Golem has been an MVP board breaker, helping me win many games. For grind games, Morganite and Card Scanner are crucial, once they’re in play, it’s almost always a win.
Majesty’s Fiend is a fantastic disruption tool, forcing a response from the opponent. If Hugin gets negated (which it will happen trust me), I rely on Majesty’s Fiend as my main floodgate. Combining it with Clockwork Night and Rivalry of Warlords makes for a solid floodgate setup, especially against fiend-based decks.
In terms of card priority, It depends on the card combination you opened. If I open with Hugin and Majesty’s Fiend, even if Hugin gets negated Hugin is the priority if I opened multiple floodgtes, as it protects my backrow. I can use Majesty for discarding in this case.
Sky Crisis has been a game-changer for this deck when going second, this card has saved me in so many tight situations, people just dont expect it as most players dont negate the runick spell initially. I’ve also found Azamina Saint to be an excellent Super Poly target, especially in matchups like Blue-Eyes Magia, where they couldnt beat over it once I cleared their board and lock them with one of my floodgates. Plus Azamina makes it to where all my 0 ATK Fusions become very deadly when attacking as my opponent takes all the damage. I won a few games like this, crashing my fusions plus Azamina.
Overall, this deck requires a lot of knowledge and skill to play. You can’t just blindly go for Fountain every time—you need to be creative with your plays and understand each card’s purpose. I have some very cool replays saved. Specially one gainst a full Blue Eyes Magia Stardust field that was very fun to break and control afterwards. In terms of replays expect a lot of players to just surrender after their board is taken apart and they dont draw the out next turn. For replays ID 615-320-621
