Notes & Combos

This submission was originally supposed to be Goblin Biker. But after getting matched into Tenpai Dragon game after game, for the sake of my sanity, I decided to play something more resilient against hand-traps. And Spright absolutely delivered.

I chose to play Deep Sea Diva instead of Dark Beckoning Beast for two reasons: First, it is unaffected by Droll. And second, it provides more water discards for Swap Frog, something which came up quite often. On the subject of Swap Frog, I feel it was the single best card in the deck. It turns nimbles stranded in the hand into an extra body. And acted as reliable hand-trap bait because people apparently don’t know how this deck works. Actually, there’s a replay in the accompanying Youtube video where one Swap Frog eats three negates if you want to see it in action.

As for Never Ending Nightmare Absorber and Vouiburial, the Dragon Undertaker… They were alright. I played them mostly for fun (It is only a Master V decklist after all.) I didn’t see Vouiburial even once in the first thirty games I played. And even when it did eventually find its way into my hand, it struggled to be useful. I never got any value out of it on turn zero. Nightmare Absorber was better, and being water attribute helped with Swap Frog. But I only ever got it over 2000 attack once, at which point it was quickly, and unceremoniously removed. Overall, I’m glad I gave them a chance, but they almost never came up, and should probably be replaced with Foolish Burial and effect Veiler for a more optimal list.

Some notes on the extra deck: Mannequin Cat is played over Djinn Buster because it can summon Ghost Ogre against Blue-Eyes (which came up very often) and Red/Carrot vs fire decks. Apollousa, Avramax, and Goddess all came up about as often as each other. And I never summoned Almiraj even once.

It was a tough climb, with over half the decks I faced after the release of Onslaught of Emperors being Primite Blue-Eyes. But the deck still performed admirably. As always, I am happy to answer any questions regarding the deck. And I thank you very much for reading.
