Notes & Combos
So, I decided to do my first master climb in 10 months with this deck — bystial warcrime. Yes, what an odd name, but it is an accurate description if you look at the most weird combination of engines ever in a deck, backed by handtraps, and held together by verte.
This deck is in no means original, however it's a very good deck that got tops from a few asian MD players, then got completely abandoned, so I decided to check it's efficacy into 2025. Made some slight adjustments in main and side, but overall the same concept; eat handtraps, set up grind game, resolve verte. I must say this deck is still surprisingly good, and more importantly there may be some unholy cooking to be done with the scareclaw engine in the future, as it has plenty of potential.
For those to whom this deck is alien, allow me to explain: all 3 engines (bystial, Kash, scareclaw) have a very distinct purpose. Scareclaw is the main engine which gives the deck its power, its oomph, as a single reichheart can put up baronne verte. Now there are many one card combos that can do way more, but if you look at engine commitments, then at the fact this engine chews through handtraps and is very versatile, it makes it the best link normal summon engine you could play in a deck like this, in my opinion at least (there have been lists that have played aleister too!). Kash is fairly self explanatory, very powerful field presence, good going second, and free link fodder if needed. Bystial is the main engine here, as it ties in with branded; like kash it's good going second and for providing field presence, as well as linkage, however you can also send retribution with saronir to recover brafu.
To top it all off, the deck is held together by verte ft. albaz and branded fusion. Since you play a small engine, sometimes you'll only have enough for a link 2, however that link 2 can do so much for your deck, as, by sending branded fusion, you access mirrorjade which is 2-3 interruptions on its own, and can get you recursion through retribution too. You send rindbrumm of MJ, then can summon back albaz, and potentially go into borreload furious. Then, if you can recover brafu with retribution to go again.
Overall a very fun deck, would recommend a try. Some personal choices I made: bystial aluber is a handy versatile card, though I may cut it since it can be bricky; monster reborn is a goated card in this deck; s:p ofcourse and lizard, which is very versatile.
Lastly, free my boy saronir!
Replays
900-152-148
These replays aren't the best, as most of my games were fairly quick, but I've got two replays showing different situations to give you an idea. As I make my M1 climb, I'll add more replays.
Vs yung_jaime (marincess) – shows the board breaking capabilities, unfortunately i lose to misclick :'(
Vs beta1990 (tenpai) – chew through HTs then outgrind opponent going first
P.S. I didn't have space, but extra deck was tight so here are some options: dis pater, phoenix, azalea, ty-phon

Wow, I’ve been trying to make Branded Synchro work for the longest time.
This list checks a lot of the boxes for what I want in a deck.
- Branded Stuff
- High Hand Trap count
- Mid range
Any suggestions to make the deck count 40? Or do you not want to make it 40 since we do run a lot of cards that we wouldn’t want to draw like Beast, Birth, Albaz, Bystial Aluber. Wow that’s a lot of bricks.
Any changes while grinding to M1?

Branded Fusion is probably a brick as well since it locks you out of non fusion plays, so you would want it in deck for Verte

Hey dude, yeah I like this deck quite a lot. I played another version that had even more branded and bystial stuff if you're interested in that, it's on my profile. Only problem is it's weaker thanks to konamis saronir hit that they haven't reversed (yet).
I was actually debating making it 40 because of how nice it is to open reichheart. Tbh, maybe you could cut beast and aluber, but I liked them personally, maybe I'd play test and see what's best.
Also unfortunately I stopped M1 climb, tenpai board breaker turbo is a nightmare for us 😭
But the deck has been very good against almost every other deck in my experience.
