Notes & Combos

With hornet drones going back to 3 in a recent banlist, I whipped up this deck based on some penguin theorycrafting I did. The full combo is through opening either drones or engage along with either gardens or emperor. This is thanks to the striker engine providing both a level 1 token which is perfect for synchroing into brave for puny setup as well as tribute fodder for emperor through kagari. This setup will net you full centurion set up, a handrip through omega or dragite (not necessarily the better choice due to needing monster zones), borrelguard dragon, and penguin ninja with nopenguin in gy which borrelguard can flip at any point for some spell/trap banishes.

Oath and stand up are also not bad to draw with the penguins providing the standard synchro set up plus fodder for emperor as you can bring back either auxila or legatia respectively with phalanx after tribute summoning. As for why I play 60, I'm playing a lot of 1 ofs that I'd rather not draw and lots of 3 ofs I would prefer to draw so to reduce the chance of bricking if ever so slightly, I play this deck as a pile. Also yes, I can only put 2 maxx c since the new banlist announcement but I was using 3 obviously, pretend the second copy of thrust is that.

Now on to the extra deck, I play quasar because I value a second negate over supernova. I know a second blazar would be better in that regard but I already had quasar from long ago and don't want to spend dust. Justiciar is an amazing synchro tailor made for extending with penguins, being water attribute and giving you a reborn to loop emperor again. Rabbit is just a good plan B if all else goes wrong (or you brick which happens more often than I'd like). The rest of the choices should be self-explanatory. All in all, this is a very fun sloppy pile of a deck that I plan to attempt to take into M1.
