Glad non furniture got some representation.
got a few questions: why 3x punishment. isn't 2 enough? (you even run 3x trap trick, a second copy of D barrier would probably been better)
triple welcome lab is also unnecessary, 2x is fine. (some even run just 1.)
And the imperms, I heard from a person that played this type of lab a lot, you'd rather have another removal trap than imperms. (maybe it's for the occasional SHS FTKs?)

Might test a second copy of d barrier though it’s not great going into established boards and a bit iffy against non-branded decks. Branded being as prevalent as it is might warrant a second copy though.
Punishment is one of the most impactful removal traps so I was willing to risk opening more than 1 just to see it in my opening hand. Was running 2 punishment 1 ice dragon, but didn’t feel ice dragon was doing that well vs the current versions of branded (too many different types and no way to remove mirror jade). I’ve tried other traps like Ichiroku but felt punishment was significantly better than the alternatives.
I’m usually of the belief of maxing out in engine consistency. If you go too long without engine you get out grinded. It’s a trade off but I prefer more access to engine even with slight increase to brick on opening 2-3. Trap trick often removes a copy as well so having 3 can make sure you can still set up the double welcome lab loop with field spell.
Since we are on MD there are a lot of random decks like FTK that you don’t see as often in TCG / OCG, imperm is your only chance against some of those rogue decks going 2nd. This happened to me in a grand final before so I usually like at least the possibility of stopping such decks. It also synergies enough with Lady that it’s usually alright in most matches.
Basically it’s a matter of personal preference and deck building philosophy.

Trap lab represent! I tried to make it work when Lab first dropped but couldn’t. Maybe I’ll give it a second try. Did you find you had trouble going against furniture lab? They were killing me when I tried the trap heavy version. Also why no Karma cannon? Just didn’t feel the need?

Lab mirror is a race to eradicator (unless they let you resolve Lord who can protect your backrow) against trap heavy lab. Activating this against furniture lab requires the correct timing (if you have alternative ways of destroying their sets like punishment you may want to go for another play), you are looking to deny them key traps they set with furniture / lady while also gaining knowledge on what’s in their hand (so you can play around whatever is in it) and forcing them into non-optimal trap activations. Be mindful of when clock is activated. After that the other key card is the field spell. That singular card generates so much advantage in the mirror that whoever’s plays it first and can keep it up for a few turns will usually out advantage the opponent. If your going 2nd in mirror then you either improve your coin flipping skills or hope they don’t EEV right away. If you actually get to play (some variants don’t run EEV) and not have your entire “set 4 combo” blown up right away it’s winnable with the right hands (like not opening up dead floodgates). No cannon cause it’s not a removal trap. It doesn’t actually remove the threat from the board while Lava Golem / Weight Bridge actually take stuff off field. Towers also not that common in current meta.

hey congrats! I've watched your battle and you really inspired me to drop my runick. thanks for making the game f2p for us btw, super cool royal deck! +bread

man you did a great ******* job. congrats on winning top 2, even though you didn't win game 2 and 3 in grand finale, you sure made it rough for Abho (an insane player) to work hard for the top 1 position.

Basically lol. Card has absurd levels of flexibility if you have extra deck space. I tried playing without it cause it was not a Royal but I got punished pretty hard for leaving it out.
